When I Looked Him In The Eyes

When I looked him in the eyes,
It seemed like no one was there.
Not knowing that in the truth,
He really didn't care.
To waste my time,
For him to lie.
To pretend everything was real,
When I knew the first hi was a goodbye.
When I looked him in the eyes,
To tell you the truth, I was scared.
To smile that fake smile,
Trying to pretend I cared.
I know he wasn't for real,
And at that I should've known.
But I guess it was just the way he was,
I always thought I was on my own.
I had to always walk alone.
