The Man in Black
Black sunglasses and a black suit
The foot lights he would smash
With a deep voice and slicked back hair
He’s the great Johnny Cash

Life on the road is not easy
He was not like a saint
Even though he played Rock-N-Roll
He did not make girls faint

He was another type of person
An American rebel
Singing for folks no one else would
To those in a jail cell

On his tour he found another love
Her name was June Carter
Though he was still married he knew
That he would marry her

After many months of asking
She finally said yes
Joined by love always together
Now touring the U.S.

May fifteenth two thousand and three
His true love’s time was done
Johnny had been devastated
Their love rivaled by none

Four months latter his time had come
This news was shocking yet
They became a modern day
Romeo and Juliet
