Your Name

I wrote your name in the clouds,
You could see it from where we lay;
We laughed and talked for hours
But the sunset erased your name away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
Next to where the children play;
The castles and moats were eternal
But your name washed into the bay.
I wrote your name in the rainbow
With colors and the sun’s ray;
Yet there was no mighty rainfall
And your name became only grey.
I wrote your name in my heart
And every night I used to pray:
“We will be together,
Forever and ever.”
And in my heart your name did stay.

I wouldn't be surprised if this ballad turned into a song in the future!  It sounds just like one.  Maybe it, as a poem, already is a song.  It just hasn't been sung yet. (:

This is so sweet! I'm honestly a hopeless romantic, and I would listen to a song like this all the time! :) Thank you so much for looking through all of my work...I know there is a lot of it. I really appreciate all of your comments!

Thank you! But I've read your work, and I can say the exact same thing!
