Heart of the Storm
Listening to the thunder
 My head against your chest
 We're comfortable in our silence
But our minds will never rest

 Lightning strikes around us
We watch the storm in awe
 Your heartbeat leaves me breathless
As the rain begins to fall

 Perfect drops against the glass
 Your eyes are shining bright
 Shadows dance around us
 As suspense consumes the night

The wind races on above us
 As chaos fills the sky
 Barely above a whisper
 The night sings in reply

 As beautiful and flawless
As a summer storm can be
 The world collapses around us
And leaves just you and me

 We're finally on our own
At the center of the storm
 The walls have tumbled down
But in your arms, it's warm

 And we'll be swept away
As the wind picks up speed
But through it all I've realized
 You're all I'll ever need
