Tragic Day
Tragic day, beloved friend
Such a surprise when it came to an end
Swirling confusion, the pain in my heart
The horror, the grief, the night you depart

Red, rouge, call it what you want
It’s the warmth of your fur, the life you haunt
Our crimson flowers are dying my dear
Fading away just like you this past year

Grim Death, with his scythe in hand,
So soon for you, I’ll never understand
Black, noir, it is all the same to me
My horror and shock when he came for thee

The misty, stormy gray of grief
My foolish mind almost gives me the belief
That everything’s the same and life’s as before
Yet I glimpse your urn, cutting me to the core

 The confusion, illusion
Shall I ever make the right conclusion?
As dark purple as the evening sky
I keep replaying it, I don’t know why

 Tragic day, beloved friend
A tear in my soul no doctor can mend
Not a day goes by when I don’t think of you
Maybe that’s the reason why I feel so blue…
