we form our own galaxy, you and I

We could be stars, spinning frozen
around each other in slow-motion
as comets roll and asteroids tumble
out of sight; we could be ancient
stars that pulse and glitter,
not as brightly as the others;
we near our supernova, extending
ourselves to each other,
holding tight, as clingy as
binary stars
in a cluster made of lights.
