The Departure
Like heat, she rises
Pale skin shimmering in the moon light
Eyes aglow, like hot, hot embers
And now she speaks
With words so sweet of breath composed
Like words from a mother
With eyes that shine, like a child
And now she smiles
Her lips, like blossoms in the spring
A smile that speaks, softly
Like feather down
And now she weeps
Tears flow, like steady raindrops
Falling from the heavens
The heavens that call her name
And now she departs
Her spirit rises, like a phoenix
Towards the sun
Towards the stars
Towards the moon
And how she sleeps
Like a child
Her eyes dull, her smile sunken
Her journey, complete.
