I can hear it
In your voice
I Love You
3 words you say
But the emotion does not reach your eyes
And it no longer warms my heart
I can see it
On your face
Watch Out
Your mask is slipping
And breaking
And as i watch the peices fall
The you I loved
And another you
That lies in wait underneath
That person is not the one I love
Surely not the one who hugged me
Knowing something was wrong
Who lent me a shoulder to cry on
Then dried my tears
And spoke the words
"I'll protect you"
