The Peanut Butter Man
‘Twas swirling, and the sweet chocolates
Did bounce and bubble in the river;
All minty were the banks,
And the gumdrop paths melting.
“Beware the Peanut Butter Man, my girl
The eyes that puff, the throat that constricts!
Beware the Almond king, and shun
The monstrous Pistachiobatch!”
She took her bitter licorice in palm;
Brief time the creamy enemy she sought--
So slumped she next to the Gingerbread house,
And stirred awhile in daydream.
And, while on paradise dreamed she stayed,
The Peanut Butter Man, with face of death,
Appeared hopping past the sugary doors,
And desperate as he came!
Two, one! Two, one! And then and then
The candy cane snapped snip-snip!
She murdered it gone, and without his shells
She went prancing home.
“And has she butchered the Peanut Butter Man?
Reach for my heart, my sensitive girl!
Oh ridiculous night! Yay! Hooray!”
She boomed for her slay.
‘Twas swirling, and the sweet chocolates
Did bounce and bubble in the river;
All minty were the banks,
And the gumdrop paths melting.
