I loved him.
I loved him.
I loved him
Not for the cool clothes he wore
Not for the fast car he drove
Or all of the expensive gifts he bought me
I loved him
Not for the way he cut his hair
Not for the way his cologne smelled
Or the fact that all the girl thought that I was the luckiest just to be seen with him
I loved him
For the kindness in his eyes
For the warmth in his smile
And the way he made me feel safe
I loved him
For the songs he wrote
For the dedication he had
And how full he was of passion
I loved him…
But he changed.
I loved him
But his eyes grew cold
But his smile faded
And the songs he now wrote were all full of hate
I loved him
But he no longer looked only at me when other girls walked by
But his silences seemed to stretch
And he became so full of secrets.
I loved him
But the one thing that I thought could never happen happened
And when it happened
I stopped loving him.
