Computer Screen
A flash of light,
A neon burst ,
A purple lidded sunken eye
Sees midnight blare
Electric red,
Pays for the fluorescence with time.
The silver screen,
A lone escape
In a 6 by 8 world of black,
Reflects its glow
In iris pools
Too scared and lazy to look back,
To search outside
The shiny world
For something real flickering afar
Past snaking cords
Past murky dreams
And past the glaring lights of cars
In the sky there are stars
