Where am I,
Why did I
Take these actions so swiftly,
The opportunity came so quickly
I didn't even have time to stop,
And think!
Or did I?
Did I just want to ignore the fact
That this is not world has to give her pearls away
Or put her diamonds on layaway just because it's the common thing to do?
Why didn't I just run away,
Or stand my ground and let them know what I'm really about
So know I sit on display
Knowing
Who I was,
Who I became, and
Who I am
Knowing
Where I was,
Where I've been, and
Where I'm at
And also knowing
Why I did,
Why I don't, and
Why I do
So that I can give explantion
To the next generation
Who will ask without hesitation
Who am I
For the many who hear, but
The few that will listen
To the previous generation
To realize that I don't have to take the hard road to find out
