The End
40 months of work and it is finally here.
That day I’ve waited for to be able to sing and cheer!
Sports and clubs and homework galore,
But how can 4 years of work make me so unsure?
Who knows what the future holds,
All I know is I’m blind as my life unfolds.
It’s a countdown now but I will admit,
Maybe I want to stay and enjoy it.
Our smiles may seem full of excitement
But inside our colors are not so vibrant.
The prospect we leave home and are all alone?
Okay, I’ll say it—we’re scared of the unknown.
A fresh start; a new beginning,
It’s all good and well but home will always be comforting.
All the tests and quizzes slowly move to the past,
High school will soon be a memory of contrast.
A diploma in hand and a smile abound,
My heart is full and I think I’m ready for the next go-around!
