What do you see
When you look into my eyes?
Do you just see the color?
Or do you dare to venture deeper?
Into my soul?
Do you see my laugh?
The laughter of the best of times?
Or do you see the sorrow?
The sadness?
Do you turn away,
As the years of pain flash by?
Will a spark of fear ignite in you
When you see the fury of being burned?
But there is a flicker of hope
That the future will bring happiness.
So now that you know
What is inside my soul.
What will you see
When you look into my eyes?
