my life made sense

pumpkins smash on baby doll lollipop
getting closer to the edge but jump out
of the car because fire over the cliff clichés
piling up to cushion you on the way down
even though cars go up hills and swim to
the bottom of the ocean schoolbus drive
hitler youth practice in mud no gauze on
soaking tiny pinhead blood bits in a canteen
and eating catchy lyrics for breakfast
while the cereal disappears before two am
but that was me in your boxers eating all
your food not your mom i was hungry and
it made sense at the time just like my life.
