A Symbol of Time

To admire its beauty you must look through a scope
On a night that's not cloudy, at least one would hope
So perfectly round it sits in the sky
And stars in a rhyme where fatted cows fly
Smart people sit down and try to find out
If we can survive on this orb, which is no, not a doubt
It's a planet much admired by every kind
A natural calendar for all of mankind
So whether it's new, full, or not even there
There is no other planet that can quite compare
The milky white orb is a symbol of time
That can only be seen when it is nighttime
