Dry September nights
Bright neon lights
I walk these no-name streets
Listening to an un-heard beat
Singing songs of the rain
Night has the courage
I hope to gain
Ringing sirens in my mind
I feel myself start to un-wind
The sky sheds tears as clear as glass
They fall and shatter my futile mass
I pull up my hood and say goodbye
I faintly hear the Ravens cry
My life is gone
as is the rain
My mind un-weaving barely sane
My eyes a soulless window pane
Now you know the girl you knew
was not me
But merely what I yearn to be
I tried for you
tried to be
Just know that you still hold the key
So this is how the story ends
Your heart, I'm sorry
I hope will mend
I take a breath and close my eyes
and once again the Ravens cry
Before I fall, you grab my hand
Bringing my feet back onto land
Looking into your hazel eyes
I know that I cannot lie
You held me tight, nothing was said
Letting me know I wasn't dead
Telling me that you still love
Suddenly Raven turns into dove
And rain ceases from above
The story now re-writes its end
No more trying to pretend
Remember this when the Ravens cry
Try not to let them hear you sigh
And whatever you do don't say goodbye
Your savior will come
just wait and see
Then soon the Ravens shall quietly flee..
