That One Night
That one night that she got high,
I watched as they packed their bong,
Unable to stop them.
That one night that the babies cried,
Their mothers up to mischief,
Unable to aid them.
That one night that I heard the moans,
Of the two women in the basement,
Unable to hear my calling.
That one night that she came home trashed,
Bawling her eyes out and vomit in her hair,
Unable to calm her.
That one night that my sister left,
Depressed from the breakup,
Unable to keep her.
That one night that I sat on the bed,
Worrying about everything,
Unable to sleep.
