That Fateful Day in September
Fumes of smoke billowing above the skyline
 Numerous emotions running high
Anger, despair, sadness: nothing is normal
Why would someone do this to my country?
Who would even dream of committing such a terrible crime?
Innocent people lose their lives for no good reason
Because of the hate of others
Because of their hate of America

On a day of such horror
 A nation becomes united
United in strength and united in hope
 Ordinary people become heroes
Firefighters and medical personnel risk their lives to save their brothers and sisters
We weep as a nation and remember as a nation
 And we will never forget

 That fateful day in September
