Darkness

This world,
Once so bright,
Is now
Under a shroud.
Smothering
The hopes and dreams
And suffocating all
Of these feelings.
There's no hope,
There's just a shroud,
You can't hide from the darkness,
That envelops this world.
Shadows lurking around
Each and every corner,
Creeping closer and closer,
Dragging you into the ground.
You cannot escape,
From it's grasp.
Like the poisonous asp,
It will corrupt you
And kill you,
From the inside.
