I Searched The World
I got a map and searched the world
I went everywhere that I knew
I looked in the mountains and under the sea
But I just didn't know what to do
I searched in the meadows of green and of gold
I looked in the stars of the night
I watched the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea
And I searched in the dark and the light
I searched in the smallest and simplest things
I looked at the funny and strange
I searched in the best and even the worst
I looked in rainbows and I looked in the rain
So I looked and I looked and strangely I found
That the story had one funny part
That the joy I so desperately wanted to find
Rested within my own heart
So I looked in myself and I finally saw
What I had wanted to find all along
That I already had what I wanted to get
In the joy of a sunset or sweetness of song
And in love I can find what I cannot be taught
That the love of another is what I had sought
