Running
running,
through the dark corners of my imagination
from something unknown, but knowing the fear
hiding
from from the shadows of nothing on the wall
cast by a non-existent strobe light
flickering on and off
on and off
but always on my mind.
The fear trickles through the cracks in the floor
echoes of it bouncing of the walls.
A horrifying calmness,
then the fear crashing over my head like a wave
no strobe light now
just a spotlight of terror
a Tsunami of screams
Lungs aching for a breath
of being awake.
