Brown Eyes
I want to believe it
I want it to be real
All I know is this new feeling
Is all I ever want to feel
Tears taste funny
But your smile’s so fine
It’s what gets me through this
It’s what makes you mine
And they don’t see it
They just see your beard
But you shave it on Tuesday
Yeah, my friends are weird
And why can’t they see
How brown those eyes are?
And what makes this so tough
Is that you are so far
And your hair reminds me
Of Daddy’s Italian side
You’re glad to be part of that
Showing you’re 1/8th Italian pride
I thought he tore up the picture
So I thought it was good-bye
Because they all feel that way
They think you’re the one making me cry
But why can’t they see
How brown those eyes are?
And what makes this so easy
Is that you are so far
