Do You See?
Blinded
not yet learned to see.
To break this lock
you must find
the key.
White boy, Black man
no difference
here.
White boy blind
is to
Black man
dear.
Sometimes
one can not
understand.
Until one looks
with different
eyes.
This world
is
deep-down
full of
lies.
We are blind
to the world’s deceit.
Our
appearances
and
heritages
make you
no different
than me.
Many fall to the lie.
That if you
are different
than I.
That one of us
does not belong.
That one of us
is just plain wrong.
But this lie
holds not one bit
of truth.
For I am to you
as
you are to me.
Friends,
just as people should be.
Now
as thy eyes are opened
to pure truth.
Go and share with the world’s youth.
*Amazing grace!
How sweet the sound
that saved a wretch
like me.
I
once was lost
but now
I’m found;
Was blind,
but now
I SEE!
*This last part was taken from a song called Amazing Grace, by John Newton
