I collapsed into the fallen snow
That landed weeks ago
Its surface rigid
Protecting the soft blanket of the land
Like a piece of chocolate, a creamy inside

My limbs went to work
Chipping away, into a mold
Features mimicking mine
A soft fingertip
My own

I rise from the snow
Carefully as could be
Leave the imprint of belly
As my mitten propelled the rest up
Constructing this cherub

Grass and weeds frame the face
Speckled dirt, naive freckles
Radiance among the dirtiness that time leaves us
Melting away
Into oblivion
