Masquerade
A collection of cute conditions to concur;
Doubt disappears with a daring disguise;
Shiny scars of shame, the sequins scatter
Jewels of judging jealousy laced with lies.
Paint over the past pain still pressedly present;
Failures never found in flaunting feathers;
Garnish golden glitter to glisten and glint,
Though charming it covers up true colors.
Robe with regretful ribbon that ruins;
Beads beam at the world, but behind it’s bare;
Veil the vexation with the same glued grin,
And sprinkles of sunshine never to share.
Must master the masking of misery;
Is it so scary to let someone see?
