The Forgotten Orchard
Sitting in this car,
 I imagine once more...
 A sea of green,
 lush green trees.
 Nimble branches,
 swaying in the breeze.
 Heavy with fruit,
 the fruit of cherries,
and I let my eyes wander,
 over this sea.
 A sea of green,
 lush green trees.
 but wait, there's more,
here it is, a fruity galore!
 It's not just cherries,
 but apricots too,
 stretching for miles
 and miles, over this sea.
 A sea of green,
 lush green trees...
 And now I stare,
 on this very bleak day,
 at a single, solitary orchard.
 All alone.
 Where did the others go?
