if we left each other here
but we insist on holding on
too tighly for comfort
insist on hating and loving
in equal measure
our eyes could dry better
if we stopping talking here
but we insist on singing to
each other woes that don't interest
insist on being the center
in unfairness to them
our friends could see better
if you and I stopped fighting
but we insist on being us
forever and ever
insist on individuality
that's who we are
our lives could go better
but we insist on hanging on
