My American Soldier

The hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life
is watching him leave
knowing that there's a chance that
He wont be coming back.
what scares me that most is that I know
He is going off to fight for me
the chance for me to love again.
I cant love again
How do I love again when
he is the one I love.
he tells me not to worry, but I do constantly.
I worry because I know that there might be a chance that
my love for him will never be able to be shown.
I have been his soldier and he has been mine.
I'm incomplete with out him by my side
Knowing that I have his support
to live my life the way I want to.
I have him to thank for breaking me free
Bringing out the amazing part of me that
I have never known I had.
Being able to be free
As I sit on the beach glancing up
In the sky
The American flag flies.
I know that is my symbol for him
I sees his face in that American flag
A big smile looking down on me
He see the tears running down my face
The tears aren't for the fear
they are for The happiness of
The bravest man I know today
The man I call
My American soldier.
