The Flag
The Flag
In school, I sung to you every day
I practiced what you used to say
But, something has changed in me
Like the seasons on a tree
I can no longer agree with what you do
Because I now have a different point of view
After going through the war
I’ve come to disagree with your lore
I’m okay with our state not being superior
For now I know no country can be inferior
And most of all I have learned:
Trust for the state must be earned
And no matter how right it may seem
War is only righteous in a dream
