Ambrosia
A child born
Born to Chang'e and Phoebe
Phoebe her name placed gently
Gently I declined her, saving myself one more time
Time has come as I pulled out a ring
Ring of the church bells as my son spreads his wings
Wings are clipped and my heart cries
Cries are heard; my voice starts it all
All to blame on me, another wrinkle on my face
Face turned away as the red flames bite my skin
Skin of deep scars, skin I chose to keep
Keep faux away, ageing is a privilege
Privilege of life
Life I lived and I lived well
Well, my time has come
Come to drink the bittersweet ambrosia.
