Ode to the Beach

The blazing, hot sun
glares at us angrily.
To the ocean I run,
where I swim freely.
The cool, sea water
kills the burning weather.
The beach gives us laughter
and never ending pleasure.
We dig up shells
Washing them on nearby wells
We water-ski with joy
and freedom,
like a bird flying without a ploy.
Oh beach,
you are more beautiful than flowers.
I could spend a whole day listening to your speech.
Oh beach,
your cold, spacious, blue self
will soon be out of my reach,
and I will be in my most sad self.
