What is a worn out shoe?
Does it have holes in the souls?
Or gum on the bottom
that the floor clings to.
Too small for a growing boy,
his toes crumpled tight.
No longer do they bring joy.
At the sides an action hero and flashing light.
Or maybe they fell into a puddle of mud.
Got wet on a rainy day.
You'll try to wash them,
bubble and spud.
A new pair of shoes is coming your way.
