Grandma
i am so proud of you and the young woman you've helped me to be
i am so amazed by all that you've been through
i wish i could see life in the same way that you do
i remember when i was a little girl
you playing with my little blonde curls
you'd play games and watch tv with me
you were the one that helped me to read
its really happening but its hard to believe that you're slowly slipping away from me
seems like just yesterday i was three
id watch barney and you would sing as you wrapped your arms tightly around me
i wish i could go back to those times
there were no problems and everything was fine
things are different now, a little more complicated
as time goes on this pain will pass
but my love for you will always last
as will all the memories, which i will keep with me
for eternity
