That Book
That book you gave me…
I still have it, you know
 With the bookmark and all
 Every night I read it
And it puts me to sleep
The memories of you and me
 Are always so close then
But now we are so far apart
 Do you even remember me?
 It was so long ago…
 When you finally disappeared
 If you were still here,
 Things would have changed
I think I would be happier
Because I’d hold on to you
And I wouldn’t let you go
 That book you gave me…
I keep it with me always, you know
I bring it to school and on vacations
Somehow, it always lifts my spirits
 And I think it’s because
It reminds me of the one I’ve always loved
 And always will love
 Even though you are gone
