Forgiveness

How could you commit such a crime in the hatred of our sorrows?
You've unleashed a monster so broad and now must envy the souls within us.
Betrayal by the enemy has intrigued tomorrow in us all.

Soldiers fighting fierce battles with America in their hearts.
The lives America has lost can never return or be borrowed from the other souls that still live on.
Forgiveness, love, and hatred continues still today throughout the world!

For every soldier that dies in battle for this country, another life is born and later will learn what their forefathers have sacrificed.
We may be surrounded by hatred, love, and regret, but the keyword for America to be successful is FORGIVENESS!
Regret can be good and regret can be bad, but FORGIVENESS is forever!

The author's comments:
I chose to write this piece of poetry because of the troops overseas fighting for their lives. September 11th impacted everyone. There was love, there was hatred, and there was much regret. Since then, we have all learned that America can battle through anything that comes its way!
