This Tune
This Tune
Songs keep playing on my iPod,
I find it silly that each one reminds me of you.
Today was another failed attempt
At getting you to see more than what's in front of you.
And the song I'm hearing now is the same old tune.
Each day takes me closer to being farther away
Two steps forward, three steps back
I figure that I'll met you eventually
But I'm fearing that I might be too late.
Who is that at your side
Her voice would never match any ballod written for you.
Please see through her act, her attempt
is so much weaker then the changes I've made for you.
And when the song changes again,
I have to admit that it's the same old tune.
And each day takes me closer to being miles away
One inch forward, three jumps back.
I figure that someday I'll meet you
But I'm fearing that it'll no longer be worth the fight.
Another change, my mind on shuffle
while you're shuffling you feet and there's something about you
That made a failed attempt
At making yourself clear; if anyone's on shuffle, it's you.
Because this song is on repeat
And all I'm hearing is the same old tune.
Another failed attempt at making myself clear
Can this repeat again?-- I'm not sure you get it
Two steps forward, three steps back
Another failed attempt....
And this same old tune is all I'm hearing.
