I tick and I tock

December 14, 2008
By Shelby Jackson, Edmond, OK

I am the thing everyone fears,
What brings us all tears,
That is, when I run out.
Yet everyone wants more of me,
But they accept no fee,
When they use me all up.
I always pass, like I flew,
But never am I behind you,
I am the constant in your experiment.
I tick, and I tock,
As solid as a rock,
Yet I run right through you.
And you don't feel a thing,
Don't hear a ring,
Because, I am nothing, but time.
