My Eyes
With Teacher:
Front row
Head full
Head high
Hand high
Mouth raised
Voice raised.
Eyes
Open.
In Hallway:
Back straight
Neck set
Step quick
Lips set
Smile wide
Shoulders strain.
Eyes
Open.
At Home:
Mouth wide
Back hunched
Breathing heavy
Head heady
Heart heaving
Stomach growls.
Eyes
Drooping.
My Voice
Crawls from the crutches
it's Exhaustion
lost in the Caution
of selling my Auction
of words my Extortion 'round societal norms
to free me from fetters
the trapping of betters.
The closer I come to Reality
farther from Fallacy
reaching the Agony
of everyone's Calumny.
Striding on Valiantly.
I'm painting the tapestry
of my very own Travesty.
Trust in my Vanity.
My Head:
Reaches a point where I can't keep screaming anymore.
My Eyes:
Are closed.
