A Dream Deferred
Modeled after the poem by Langston Hughes
Chicago
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it break on the street,
Like an old broken bottle?
Or charge up like a moped,
And then take off in full throttle?
Does it coo like a pigeon?
Or get tossed aside-
Like a small hamburger smidgen?
Maybe it just sits and does nothing,
Like a stupid opossum.
Or does it blossom?
