Feelings flowing through your veins
Nostalgia nesting near your bloodstream,
the present ignites with powerful disdain
as images of prior loves and dreams
flutter about in their malicious ways
gnawing at your naive subconscious
transporting you back to forgotten days
obstructing your hope and future wish
as you dwell in a world left behind,
living off of mirrored happiness and joy reflected
forgetting how you can't rewind
leaving your current world neglected.

This is the first poem I read by this author, and the one that first drew me to her work. She is so captivating, and somehow manages to put words to the inexpressible feelings deep in my soul.
