The show

November 16, 2008
There’s a stranger in the my mirror
Staring back at me
She looks so perfect, so nice
But the girl who’s right here
That’s me
She’s scared and tired of the lies

That girl in the mirror is so tranquil
She’s never know the what it’s like to have no choice
I’ve waited so long and it’s only gotten worse
A play I rehearse and rehearse
The curtain comes up and they shout and clap
Do they not know me, a girl full of fear?

I put on the masks and hide behind my lines
I play the part, lost in the words
The curtain goes down and the play is over
But I still wear the mask and I still practice
My illusion of peace
Pretending that’s its okay and that I’m fine
