Is there a balance?
Between me and them
Or if I do what I want will I be condemned?
There is only one path for success I’ve been taught
School, College, and the a steady job
Caught in a world of repetition
That’s not the life I want
It’s not like I seek recognition
I’ll I want is freedom
Freedom from tradition
From sitting in monotone boxes
And peaking at keys
The hardest is not knowing what I want
Apart from avoiding that mind numbing life
Avoiding becoming some modern Stepford wife
Teachers and parents pressuring me
“Chose a path already”
“Know who you want to be”
I’m 15! Seriously
I don’t know, some do
But I don’t
And I fear that one day
I won’t care anymore
And I’ll go down that road
To be some falsely happy shell of me
