Hers

With a handful of sand
She began her castle;
One she knew would fall,
But for now it was beautiful.

She placed each glob of ocean soaked sand precisely,
Not just for looks, but for structure.
Nothing can last forever,
But a while is still nice.

She took a step back to get a better view,
And placed a few shells here and there.
It was unique.
There would never be another.

And as a wave came up and removed the base,
It crumbled under the weight.
Yet she still smiled for it,
No matter what happened, she loved her castle,
Because it was perfect,
And it was perfect because it was hers.
