This is for nights i lay awake
thinking of you
when no one comprehends
what i feel to be true
missing you and wishing
that you could somehow be close to me
knowing all along
it was always meant to be
i go through the day
i try to get by
it never seems to work
and all i do is cry
i can't sleep at night
i stay awake hoping and praying
for what i wish to come true
between me and you
now the hope shines through the rain
it comforts me, to know no pain
i live to see the smile on your face
that look in your eyes, there's no better place
than in your arms
as we lie on the grass
under the stars
close my eyes so tight
i know where you are
i thank God for you
i thank God for you
