These lies and regret she hopes to forget
Cover up the scars and go on with life.
'Cuz what she deserves is not what she gets,
She deserves a good life, not one of strife.

Bruised and broken, she is a glass child.
Sinner beyond belief, it's not her fault,
She tries to interfere, but daddy goes wild.
She just wants this all, to come to a halt.

Being Satan's child, she's God's regret.
She's living proof of her father's abuse,
And a pain-strick'n model of his neglect.
To try and stop him would just be no use.

The gun Mommy hides underneath her bed,
Will end Daddy's life when all's done and said.

I originally wrote this Shakesperean Sonnet grudgingly for an English assignment. Now, it is one of my favorite pieces.
