A Mask
Everyone seems to wear a mask
 Controlling what others see
If someone wants to be my friend
Please be real, at least to me

Learn how to not cover up
I need to learn this too
It’ll take a lot of practice
 To regularly do

 Practice taking off the shield
 I will keep on trying
Just give me lots of chances
Its really a kind of lying

 I’m tired of seeing fakeness
But I’m hiding what I think
When I hide myself I hide my heart
After too long you start to sink

Everyone seems to wear a mask
 Controlling what others see
Let’s make a deal I’ll try to be real
And you be real for me
