Passion

I see birds in the sky from my car;
No, they're just drops of water on my window.
I see life in the eyes of a star;
No it's just the glare off the gasses in the shadow.
I see time standing still in the wind;
No it's just a leaf getting caught on a tree.
I see space in the confines of a cage;
No it's just a gap in the bars of sanctuary.
I see the future on the road that lies ahead;
No it's just the silly dreams that block the path unwinding.
I see the past on the day that I may dread;
No it's just the truth left over from the finding.
I see life and it's left with but a scar;
No that's just a hint of memory of the disshadow.
I see the birds in the sky from my car;
No they're just drops of water on my window.

The inspiration for this poem was a group of raindrops on my window that I thought were birds at a first glance.
