The gift of Life
It was a quiet Michigan night, the world was sound asleep,
but inside those hospitals walls a fight was raging for life to keep.
With only a two percent chance of survival the outlook was looking dim,
his family kept on praying,
never giving up on him.
Gathered around his bedside I heard my cousin say,
"Daddy you have to get better so you can walk out of here one day."
By nothing short of a miracle, walk out of there he did,
and if there's one thing I've learned,
it's that every breath is a gift.
