Nothing But A Memory

Last night the stars were bright, and I started thinking of all those times I needed something more. I thought we were perfect. I didn't know what to expect from you, cuz you always seemed to come through.

What we had never existed. All those laughs are nothing but history. And when I look back, it makes me sad, to know, that you're nothing but a memory.

I pushed you away, it's my fault that I'm here today. Did you know that you're the only one who's ever been real?

I wish you could feel what I feel.

But you're nothing but a memory.

I originally wrote this piece after I pushed a boy away for something I thought was better than what I had. I later edited it to fit a breakup that was more painful.
